SOUTH ALBERTA BASEBALL ACADEMY
An athletic typeface using a traditional letterstyle; chunky with slab serifs. Use of the negative space for the shape of the province of Alberta.
Created a few versions of a monogram; one for embroidery (above) and one letterpress/screen style for some fun graphic tees and merch.

"It's equally as important to consider brand retention; not just recognition."
The style of my work is something that I've developed since the late 90's. My passion for a logo or brand mark is to first, incorporate a clever use of the brand initials; something conceptually appropriate to the business.
It's never easy or obvious but I believe that the interaction or experience an audience has with identifying a brand or logo, the longer and more memorable it will be. Memorable is the long-term retention. This can all happen within the first few seconds of seeing a logo.
Three-time national award-winning photographer and accredited member of the Professional Photographers of Canada, Jeff Noon has climbed the ranks in the national association to have obtained the coveted Master of Photographic Arts designation.
Jeff is first and foremost a proud husband and father of three (and one incredible dog, Penny).

I really enjoyed the process to getting to this concept. It took some time to stop thinking about "ice cream" and start to export the excitement and hype of a fresh media company. Well fresh for the late 90's
King Orthodontics
The concept of a crown of smiles was a homerun for this particular logo design. My pitch was to take the focus off of the process of metal braces and tooth shapes and focus on the results which is a bigger, more confident smile! It just happened to fit the concept of a crown for the last name of the Orthodontist Specialist, Dr. Keith King.
Dragons and Butterflies Preschool Brand
Another example of a successful logo with fun concept to not only build brand recognition, but the but brand retention with some unique and appropriate elements for a visually interesting mark that is easy to reproduce on all digital and print applications.
Annex Enterprises Inc.
Incorporating a monogram with as a part of a wordmark is one of the most successful things you can do when designing a logo or brand. Based on the company initials again helps with brand recognition and retention.
BrattPak
The assignment came way back around 2004 when I was asked by team of successful entrepreneurial women, who could only describe what they wanted as something like this new and upcoming brand called lululemon. Keep in mind, this was designed way before the logo for beats headphones; incorporating both the letters b and p in a shape similar to what we see in the lulu mark.
Newport Wealth
Concept design using the first letter of the company name and combining it with the letter W to also make a simple, yet clever, market symbol trending upward. This is what investors like to see is the bullish up trend indication of investment growth.
Nunweiler Private Wealth
Creating this logo with a simple merge of the initials (Nathan Nunweiler) creates a clean, yet striking shape that gives a high class impression; something that one needs and should want when getting into investment banking.
